Snap !

As long as I can remember I have always loved taking pictures. My parents would buy me disposable cameras and let me take pictures of anything I wanted. Whenever I would go out the camera would always follow and I had pictures of everything and everyone I would come across. Of course the pictures were mostly out of focus and heads were cropped off most of the people, but I didn't care. They looked beautiful ! I have always loved taking pictures so in my first year of college I took photography classes and fell even more in love. My fascination with black and white pictures got stronger when I learned how to develop my own film. Something about being in a dark room and not being able to see what I was doing was always intriguing to me, it was a mission trying not to scratch the film while trying to roll it in into the metal canister in complete darkness. I bought my first DSLR camera while taking that class, it was so fun to use.

My favorite type of pictures are the ones where the person I am taking pictures of doesn't notice, you get to capture a moment in time when they are simply being themselves, no pose, no fake smile, just them. Kind of cheesy I know, but try taking a picture when they don't notice and see how different that is compared to telling someone to say "Cheese !".

I am now in the process, or should I say saving, to upgrading to a better camera, the gorgeous Canon 5D Mark II. I can't wait to get my hands on that baby, it is expensive but so worth it. I am sure to go picture crazy once it's mine.

Birthday present anyone?

Until Next time,
Amy.

Ahhhh ! its that time of year again when the nights get cold, the jack-o-lanters light up and all the children come out to play ! Yes ladies and gentlemen it is Halloween ! Halloween has to be one of our favorite holidays. The candy, the costumes, the creepy music, we love it ! This year we did last minute shopping for our costumes (so not like us) and still came up with some pretty awesome costumes.

Lindsey as "Mavis" from the movie Hotel Transylvania

Samantha as the "Mad Hatter"

Eslee as "Captain Jack Sparrow"

and me, Amy as "Mario"

We always look forward to hanging out with friends and family on halloween. George the "Prisoner", Diego from the "US Army" and Alejandro "Link" from the Legend of Zelda.

Even our mom joined into the fun as "Little Red Riding Hood"
