Meet the first furry member of our family, Casey the golden retriever.
On one of my dads trips to Minnesota, he came back with a surprise for me and it just happened to be a gorgeous golden retriever puppy. That present was given to me thirteen years ago and she was the cutest puppy I've ever seen. Casey was a big trouble maker when she was small, she would jump all over the house, dropping plants and creating a mess. She was incredibly active and wouldn't sit still for a second. However, she was also very patient. She never bit anyone, even when I would sit on top of her and bug the heck out of her while she was eating.
Casey is a bit odd, she hates showers but loves sitting outside when it's pouring rain which leaves a wet dog stench for several days. She also scratches her back like a bear, she has her signature wall where there is a dark streak of dirt running along it. Since she was a puppy she scratched herself there and to this day, she still does. Casey is old now, she doesn't run as much and she lost her ability to hear about a year ago. Even though she has aged, she still remains strong by our side.
Now it's time to introduce the second furball, Troy the shih tzu.
For my little sisters birthday, my family and I went on a hunt for the perfect puppy present to give to Lindsey. Lindsey always asked my parents for a dog and she always got the same response, "we already have Casey." So a few days before her birthday, we found the perfect shih tzu. His name is Troy and right now, as I'm typing this post, he is attacking a bucket, growling at it. If we thought Casey was a trouble maker when she was little, Troy puts his paw in the lead. He is about to be five months old and for only being five months, he is a mega pain. He grabs a roll of toilet paper and runs all around the house leaving a trail behind. He bites everyones shoe and takes out the soles to lose them. He digs into our clothes and bedsheets. He will bite your hair if it is close enough for him to reach and trust me, he won't let go. And our favorite, he jumps onto the couch from the staircase, just to land on us and go into full attack mode. Oh, that little Shih tzu...

An odd thing about Troy is the fact that he dislikes sleeping in his dog bed. We bought a soft, brown bed and he refuses to sleep in it. He rather sleep on the hard wooden floor than his comfy bed. One day, we found him sleeping on one of Lindsey's beds for her dolls, he was knocked out cold. Sadly, the only time he uses his dog bed is when he humps it... silly Troy.
Well, there you have it, the two dogs in our family. We also have a fish name O'malley, but ... it's a fish. There is not much to say about him, Hahah.
